What to watch on TV tonight: Monday

Here are the shows that will be on your Twitter timeline this evening.

DailyEdge.ie rounds up the TV shows that you’ll be tweeting about tonight and talking about tomorrow.

Game of Thrones (Sky Atlantic, 9pm)

The premiere of the sixth season was on at 2am in the middle of last night, so you’ll be forgiven for having skipped it to catch it at the much more humane time of 9pm tonight. Avoid spoilers all day and you’ll be grand. #GoT

Wrecking the Rising (TG4, 9.30pm)

The final episode of the time travel/1916 Rising comedy mash up airs tonight. Love/Hate’s Peter Coonan is much better known for playing Fran, but he’s taken on a whole different beast with this. Him and his mates find themselves transported back to 1916, and nearly wreck the whole thing. Hence the name. #WreckingTheRising

Flowers (Channel 4, 10pm)

A brand new comedy featuring Olivia Colman hits Channel 4 tonight. It starts with a double bill, and describes itself as a “comedy about an eccentric family struggling to hold themselves together.” This has potential to be excellent. #flowers

Everyone’s talking about… the winner of Voice of Ireland last night

And it was Bressie’s contestant Michael Lawson who won out in the end:

The 19-year-old lives in Newbliss, Monaghan and all the locals were out in force supporting him last night.

Una Healy praised the young singer after his performances last night:

You are such a pop star, getting better and better.

Could be the best thing to come out of Monaghan since Big Tom and The Mainliners.

Or flick over for…

  • Iron Man (Film Four, 9pm) The start of it all.
  • 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown (Channel 4, 11pm) More consonant and vowel based larks.
  • Republic of Telly (RTÉ 2, 9.55pm) Skewering the nation one sketch at a time.
  • The Wind That Shakes the Barley (3e, 11pm) An absolute classic.
