What to watch on TV tonight: Wednesday

Here are the shows that will be on your Twitter timeline this evening.

DailyEdge.ie rounds up the TV shows that you’ll be tweeting about tonight and talking about tomorrow.

Doctor in the House (TV3, 9pm)

The good doctors visit a couple living in Drogheda for the last in the current series tonight. The couple came to Ireland from South Africa and Zimbabwe as asylum seekers in 2008, and it’s almost certain the doctors will have some advice for them on their lifestyles. Takeaways out, basically. #DoctorInTheHouse

Champions League Live: Atletico Madrid vs Bayern Munich (RTÉ 2, 7.30pm)

The second first leg semi final of the week is on RTÉ live from Madrid tonight. Last night’s 0-0 game was a bit of a anti-climax, can tonight’s do any better? The world will be watching. #AMvBM

Tower Heist (RTÉ One, 9.35pm)

Ben Stiller and Eddie Murphy team up for a middling-yet-enjoyable comedy which serves as the Midweek Movie on RTÉ One tonight. The manager of an apartment complex asks a Wall Street financier to manage pension funds for him and his friends, but the man pockets all the money instead. So they need to steal it back. Hardly Oscar winning stuff, but one of Murphy’s better comedic efforts in the last few years. #TowerHeist

Everyone’s talking about… Cuba Gooding Jr’s first big interview since The People vs OJ Simpson finished

Speaking to The Guardian yesterday, Cuba spoke about one of 2016′s most iconic shows and his controversial role in it:

A lot of my contemporaries said to me ‘Cuba Gooding Jr is such a beloved guy, now you’re playing a very dark figure among whites. How are you going to deal with the backlash?

And addressed the issue that he looks NOTHING like the man himself. Speaking to the showrunner before he was cast, he said:

Well Ryan, I will put on some weight and grow my hair out and get the five o’clock shadow, study his mannerisms and whatnot, but if you’re looking for an impersonation, I’m not your man … we have different jawlines, he’s got a bigger head and whatnot.

The line of the interview, really

Or flick over for…

  • The History Boys (BBC Four, 9pm) English grammar schools had never looked like much craic, until this.

  • Mary Beard’s Ultimate Rome (BBC Two, 9pm) A new series examining the myths and revolutions of the Roman Empire.
  • Lads mar Dads (TG4, 9.30pm) The last in the series looking at modern Irish fatherhood.
