What to watch on TV tonight: Wednesday

Here are the shows people will be talking about tomorrow.

DailyEdge.ie rounds up the TV shows that you’ll be tweeting about tonight and talking about tomorrow.

UEFA Euro 2016 Live: Ireland vs Italy (RTÉ Two 7.30pm – kick-off 8pm)

So now. This is it. Ireland face off against Italy knowing that a win will take us through to the knockout stages. The whole country will be watching to see if we can pull off a repeat of the famous World Cup ’94 victory. The permutations might be complicated for other teams, but for Ireland it’s simple: a win for the boys in green is enough. Me nerves. #COYBIG

Celebrity MasterChef (BBC One, 8pm)

A new series of the celeb cooking masterclass is back. There will be 20 celebrities over the course of the 12 episodes, and the first crop up tonight include Donna Air, YouTube vlogger Marcus Butler, comedian Tommy Cannon, Alexis Conran and singer Sinitta. A-listers they might not be, but you’re always guaranteed the drama. #CelebrityMasterchef

Midnight in Paris (RTÉ One, 9.35pm)

If the soccer doesn’t go our way, it might be best to flick over for a bit of escapism courtesy of Owen Wilson moaning his way through different Parisian eras in Woody Allen’s highly enjoyable romcom. #MidnightInParis

Or flick over for…

  • Euro 2016: Live (RTÉ 2/TV3, 5pm kick-offs) The final games of Group F.
  • Rescue Dog to Super Dog (Channel 4, 8pm) Charting the progress of some heroic pups.
  • Europe: The Final Debate with Jeremy Paxman (Channel 4, 9pm) The Brexit vote takes place tomorrow in the UK – and this will be the last big debate on the issues. Expect shouting.
  • Euro 2016 Highlights (RTÉ 2, 10.30pm) Just in case you missed anything earlier. Although if Ireland lose, best not to tune in unless you enjoy heartbreak.
