This brand new series follows on from a one-off in January. Jimmy Carr returns to asks questions on art, literature, television, music, geography, politics, science and celebrity from the last 100,000 years of human history. Sounds handy.

Fortune’s Wheel (RTÉ One, 9.35pm)

Documentary about the life and legacy of Dubliner Bill Stephens, whose dream of becoming a circus star became a nightmare for the people of Fairview when one of his lions escaped in November 1951. More of which you can read here to prepare yourself for this riveting story.
