What to watch on TV tonight: Sunday
DailyEdge.ie rounds up the TV shows that you’ll be tweeting about tonight and talking about tomorrow.
The Sunday Game Live and The Sunday Game (RTÉ 2, 2pm and RTÉ 2, 9.30pm)
Michael Lyster presents coverage of the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship final from Croke Park between Galway and Waterford. Throw-in is at 3.30pm, and you kind of get the feeling that it’s going to be a bit of a classic. If you can’t catch the live match, The Sunday Game is on at 9.30pm with all the highlights.
About a Boy (RTÉ One, 9.30pm)
For once, Hugh Grant is not a shy, bumbling, charmingly befuddled Englishman – in About a Boy he plays an idle womaniser who pretends to be a father to meet women in a single mothers’ group. And the movie is all the better for it. Excellent romcom adapted from Nick Hornby’s novel, starring Hugh Grant, Toni Collette, Nicholas Hoult and Rachel Weisz.
The Blind Side (TV3, 9pm)
A middle-class family take in a homeless teenager, who has no education or skills to speak of. The indomitable wife encourages him to turn his life around, helping him to get the grades he needs for a college scholarship and hone his sporting skills to become an American football player. Fact-based drama, starring an Oscar-winning Sandra Bullock alongside Quinton Aaron and Tim McGraw.
Everybody's talking about... John Mullane on Up For The Match last night
