IN CASE YOU missed it, Kate Middleton went into the labour earlier on today and has given birth to a baby boy.
Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a son at 1101hrs.
— Kensington Palace (@KensingtonRoyal) April 23, 2018
The baby weighs 8lbs 7oz.
The Duke of Cambridge was present for the birth.
Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well.
Incidentally the baby who is 5th in line to the throne was born on St. George’s Day so that rules the name ‘George’ out anyway.
Twitter has been having a great time trying to guess the name amongst other things. Here are 13 of the best.
1. Grammar is important when it comes to announcements.
2. As you can imagine Kay Burley is having the time of her life.
3. SHE’S ATTACK, SHE’S ATTACK, SHE’S A MANIAC

5. The announcement was made in some style.
Best thing about the #royalbaby is just how silly Royals are.

How do people take these silly people seriously?
Silly! pic.twitter.com/qJip7wJ3qh
6. Of course we all knew it was going to be a boy.

7. But also this baby has been born at a very convenient time.

8. And now the speculation about the name begins.
We’re calling it Darren. #Royalbirth

9. Some of the suggestions aren’t half bad.
I may have misheard but I believe they’re looking for a name for the #RoyalBaby that has something to do with The George and slaying with your Drag on?
— Jim Sheridan (@Jim_Sheridan) April 23, 2018
In that case they should call the child @RuPaul 🤔 pic.twitter.com/ewoatYKz5X
10. Given the week we’ve had they could give us a bit of comfort.
For the week that's in it, I'm sure #KateMiddleton will see sense and name the babby 'Big Tom'? #royalbaby
— Ciarán Lenehan (@CiaranLen) April 23, 2018
11. Or they could just go all out.
Surely the new Prince will be called Brexit? #royalbaby
— Finian Murphy (@finianmurphy) April 23, 2018
12. But we all know what they should really call the baby.
all hail prince miggeldy the first

13. And no matter what the event there’s always time for some clever advertising.
