Two men held by UK police over plot to harm singer Joss Stone
TWO MEN aged in their 30s have been arrested and detained by Devon and Cornwall Police in the UK near the home of singer Joss Stone on suspicion of conspiracy to murder and rob.
Police said they were alerted to a suspicious vehicle in the area near Stone’s Devon home at about 10am today. They subsequently arrested the two occupants.
One, aged 30, was arrested for driving whilst disqualified, possessing an offensive weapon and being equipped to burgle or steal, according to the police statement. The men were armed with swords and a body bag, as well as plans of Stone’s home.
The police officer leading the investigation, Detective Inspector Steve Parker, said that ‘reassurance patrols’ are being carried out by police in the area. He said that no properties had been burgled “and no individuals have been harmed”.
The BBC reports that Joss Stone said she was “absolutely fine and getting on with life as normal” and her publicist said the singer was being kept informed of developments by the police.
The Sunday Times Rich List recently named Stone as the fifth-wealthiest of the UK’s young music millionaires, with an estimated fortune of £9m.
