WE ALREADY KNOW that there’s a new Irish Blind Date coming to TV3 later this year, but Channel 5 in the UK are ahead of the game – having launched their reboot last week, hosted by Paul O’Grady.
So the second episode was on last night, and it was an eventful one to say the least.
Corkman Glenn was first up in the hotseat, and he had his pick of three ladies behind the legendary sliding wall
Paul O’Grady even asked him to do a bit of Gaeilge for the audience, but poor Glenn was mortified

Confident lad though.
What might have been a run-of-the-mill Blind Date selection process was turned on its head when one of the contestants to be picked turned up wearing an actual wedding dress.
It was a bold move
Kayleigh’s choice of outfit was the only talking point on the show, naturally
There was genuine disbelief
Paul O’Grady had to address the elephant in the room, and Kayleigh explained that it was an impulse buy:
“It was an amazing impulse buy and I had to think about it and now I’m really really scared to be sat here wearing it.”
Fair.
Meanwhile, Corkman Glenn was going down well with, well, everyone
As the questions continued, it really didn’t matter what anyone said because someone was WEARING A WEDDING DRESS
Eventually, Glenn picked Maya – number two – and we’ll find out next week how they got on on their date.
We’re all disappointed it wasn’t number three tbh
Until next week Glenn, good luck.
