As everyone who has experienced a break-up can tell you, it’s one of the worst things that can happen to your mental health, particularly if it’s a traumatic break-up.
A celebrity who knows that better than most at the moment is Una Foden (née Healy).

Una discovered texts on husband Ben’s phone that were received around late 2014 and early 2015, when Una was pregnant with their second child. Ben’s messages were from a woman apparently called Becky.

Una had been with Ben since 2008, meaning that as long as she’s had Instagram Ben has been a huge part of her life and hence her Instagram portfolio is full the brim of Ben who is the father of her two children.
So what does one do with all the Instas you’ve uploaded of you and your other half if you part ways?
Should you keep them up?

Should you delete them?
Like everything in life, it probably depends on what happened between you and your ex.
If, like in Una’s case, your ex cheated on you, then you’re probably very entitled to remove the photos. If your ex is toxic, then it could be a good idea to wipe all traces of them and start from a blank slate.
Out of sight, out of mind, as they say.
Una didn’t delete photos of Ben after their break up until Ben publicly alluded to her through his bio on dating app Bumble..

What if you and your half have kids?
Well, Una has retained photographs of Ben when he’s pictured with their children in them.
A classy move on her part.
