TO BE FAIR, this photoshoot was for a great cause: Education and Skills Minister Ruairi Quinn was attending an Anti-Bullying Forum in Dublin this morning.
Quinn and other politicians responsible for the education sector were supporting IDAHO (International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia) – others present included Children’s Minister Frances Fitzgerald, Fianna Fáil education spokesperson Brendan Smith, Sinn Féin’s Sean Crowe and independent TD Finian McGrath, representing the Dáil Technical Group.
Quinn said that: “Eliminating homophobic and transphonic bullying are the shared goals of the Government and of all political parties. We can no longer accept a culture where young people learn of their identity in an unwelcoming, hostile or threatening environment.”
And while the issue is deadly serious, the photoshoot can’t fail to raise a smile. Images: Sasko Lazarov/Photocall Ireland
