US airport security leave lewd note in woman's luggage

A blogger travelling from New Jersey to Dublin was shocked to find a note left in her luggage by airport security staff, urging her to get her “freak on”.

A NEW YORK woman travelling from New Jersey to Dublin wasn’t too surprised to discover an official note from US airport security staff in her luggage, informing her that her bags had been searched.

She was, however, a little taken aback to read the note itself – which included a hand-written message especially for her.

Writer and lawyer Jill Fillpovic discovered that – after uncovering a “personal item” of hers – airport security staff had scrawled the words “Get your freak on girl” on official Transportation Security Administration paper and placed the note in her bag.

A stunned Fillpovic tweeted: “Just unpacked my suitcase and found this note from TSA. Guess they discovered a “personal item” in my bag. Wow.”

Fillpovic, who blogs for US website Feministe, initially wrote that the incident was a “total violation of privacy, wildly inappropriate and clearly not ok but I also just died laughing in my hotel room”.

Despite seeing the funny side of things, however, Fillpovic told reporters that she intended to file an official complaint with the TSA. She told Fox News that it was a cause for concern that “whoever left the note felt comfortable doing so”, especially since, she suspected, most women “would be embarrassed to be ‘caught’ with personal items and wouldn’t file a complaint”.

The TSA had issued a statement, saying: “TSA takes all allegations of inappropriate conduct seriously and is investigating this claim”.
