Usher's stepson Kile loses fight for life
KILE GLOVER HAS been fighting for his life for the past two weeks after being seriously injured in a boating accident near Atlanta, Georgia.
The 11-year-old stepson of singer Usher lost that battle yesterday morning when his life machine was switched off, reports the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. He died of heart failure.
The biological son of Usher’s ex-wife Tameka Foster and Atlanta television executive Ryan Glover, Kile suffered major brain injuries on 6 July when he was run over by a watercraft on Lake Lanier.
“We know God’s in control, and are leaning on our faith in Him and His word at this most difficult time,” the family told CNN in a statement at the time of the accident. “We firmly believe in the power of prayer and ask that you all continue to pray and lift Kile up, as it’s the best way we can all support him now.”
Another girl was injured in the incident, reports MTV. The 15-year-old suffered a cut on her head and a broken arm.
Usher and Tameka Foster divorced in 2009 after two years of marriage. They are currently involved in a messy custody battle over their two sons, Usher Raymond V and Naviyd Ely Raymond.
Celebrities, including Justin Bieber, Paris Jackson and Toni Braxton, have taken to Twitter to express their condolences to the families with RIP Kile now trending on the social media site.
Authorities said an investigation into the accident continues.
