This Dublin doughnut shop has just added vegan doughnuts to its menu

What makes a doughnut vegan? We asked The Rolling Donut.

JUST WEEKS AFTER Dublin got its first vegan chipper, a doughnut shop has introduced a range of vegan doughnuts to its menu.

The Rolling Donut has added four vegan doughnuts to its menu — cinnamon sugar, vanilla glaze, pistachio and raspberry.

As you can see, they look just like regular doughnuts…

So, what’s the difference between a regular doughnut and a vegan doughnut?

The Rolling Donut explained to DailyEdge.ie that their normal sourdough doughnuts are made with eggs and milk, while the vegan doughnuts are made with “coconut oil, linseeds and various other vegan alternatives”.

Vegans and health-conscious folk are fierce excited about the doughnut development.

So, what do they taste like? One of the customers who sampled the doughnuts had this to say:

Beautifully light and tasty and worryingly more-ish! Being a vegan in Dublin just got a bit more exciting!

We’re intrigued.

Fancy giving them a go? The vegan doughnuts are available at The Rolling Donut’s store on Bachelor’s Walk as well as their new store on South King Street, which opens this week.
