With the new series of Dallas finally reaching Irish shores this autumn, we’ll be hopingg for a few more implausible cliffhanger moments to debate over dinner.
As part of TV3′s new autumn schedule and much to the delight of many mammies across the country, JR and Bobby Ewing are to grace our screens once more. There are also a few young hunks to satisfy the younger ladies.
But will there be the same level of face slapping, back-stabbing and wife-swapping as there was in the original?
Here are some of the best old school Dallas moments (loving the dramatic music):
Sue Ellen and JR’s toxic relationship – Now this was a marriage that no one would envy. Was there ever a time that they weren’t fighting? JR and his many affairs eventually pushed Sue Ellen to the bottle. JR obviously never heard of karma:
Brad Pitt in Dallas - This is probably one cringe-worthy moment for the Hollywood movie star now. It seems he had an eye for blonds in the barn before Angie:
Who Shot JR – This cliff-hanger had everyone guessing. JR is shot, leaving him in a wheel-chair and a shadow of his former self. So who done it? Thirty year old spoiler here:
The shower/it was all a dream scene - After Patrick Duffy, the actor that played Bobby, left the series he changed his mind and decided he wanted to come back. There was one problem – he had been killed off in the last series. ‘What to do, what to do’ the writers said. It’s obvious isn’t it – there is only one way to bring a dead man back to life in a 1970s drama – it was all a dream:
