VIDEO: Behind the scenes at The Hobbit
PETER JACKSON, DIRECTOR of the much-anticipated big screen adaptation of The Hobbit has given us another preview into what keeps him awake at night.
His latest video blog (a vlog, if you will) entry also goes some way to explain why he had to split JRR Tolkien’s relatively short 1937 novel into two separate films.
Script rewrites seem par for the course at the enormous New Zealand set, as do painstakingly accurate depictions of caves and lairs. Detailed costumes are also created and fitted for scale doubles as well as actors.
Take a look for yourself:

Filming for the second part of the film (The Hobbit: There and Back Again) continues.
