THERE WAS AN odd moment at a press event in Tokyo marking the release of the latest Tim Burton/Johnny Depp collaboration Dark Shadows.

Standing alongside Depp on stage at the event, Burton was waving at the crowd when he lost his balance and fell backwards off the stage.

But what made the moment particularly strange was the anticipatory movement of the handler, who ran in behind the stage to catch Burton mid-fall:
