WATCH: Glacial ice dam breaks into Argentinian lake
A HUGE CHUNK OF ICE has cracked off of a glacier, crashing spectacularly into Lake Argentina in the Los Glaciares National Park, Argentina.
The Perito Moreno Glacier is a big tourist attraction in Patagonia and the glacier periodically forms a natural dam dividing the lake for a period before rising pressure from the advancing glacier forces it to rupture.
Tourists were treated to an icy show when the glacier erupted this weekend for the first time since 2008, dumping tonnes of ice into the lake:
