VIDEO: Neighbour catches seven-year-old girl who fell from window
Updated, 10.45am
A BUS DRIVER in New York is being hailed as a hero after catching a seven-year-old girl who fell from a second-floor window.
Keyla McCree had climbed out of the window of her apartment in Coney Island and was standing on top of the air conditioner on Monday afternoon. She then lost her balance and fell three storeys to the pavement.
But neighbour Steven St Bernard rushed over and caught her before she hit the ground, the New York Post reports. Footage of the fall shows him falling to the pavement as he made the catch.
McCree’s mother told the paper: “Not a scratch on her. It’s a miracle.”
St Bernard, who suffered a torn bicep while making the catch, told the New York Daily News the girl was the same age as one of his own children.
Update: CBS reports that the girl has autism.
