NINE-YEAR-OLD Caine Monroy loved going to the arcades. So he decided to build his own.
Out of cardboard, that is – inside his dad’s car-part store. (He even has a Caine’s Arcade shirt.)
“He loves tickets, loves playing games, loves prizes. So it was only natural for him to build his own arcade,” Caine’s dad says.
Then filmmaker Nirvan Mullick happened to be passing the store when he noticed a full cardboard arcade inside. So naturally he bought a day’s pass.
He also invited some friends – and the rest is in this frankly beautiful short film. Watch it and enjoy.

One final note: so far, viewers of the film have raised more than €60,000 for Caine’s scholarship fund. You can donate here.
