Video: One small step for Lego...
TWO CANADIAN TEENAGERS have succeeded in capturing footage of the Earth’s atmosphere while sending a Lego man into near space.
Mathew Ho and Muhammed Assad, both 17, of Toronto put four cameras and a GPS-enabled phone into a styrofoam box, attached it to a weather balloon, and released it.
A Lego character was fixed to the outside of the box in front of one of the cameras, while others captured images of the Earth’s atmosphere. Here is their footage of the Lego man’s adventure:

The Toronto Star reports that the Lego character and the cameras travelled 24 km above sea level before the balloon punctured and ensemble parachuted back to Earth. Lego sent a letter of congratulations to Ho and Assad after their video was shown around the world.
