6 little luxuries you don't have to feel guilty about

Life’s little luxuries – that won’t break the bank.

IT’S THE LITTLE touches in your day that make all the difference.

Every so often, we all need a little luxury to cheer ourselves up. But the good news is that luxuries don’t always have to break the bank.

1. A coffee on the way to work

Once a week, it’s nice to forego the instant stuff, stop and get a fancy coffee on the way to work. For added luxury, why not use cream instead of milk? Go on, you’re worth it.

2. New sheets

Nothing beats the feeling of having a shower and getting into a freshly-made bed with new sheets. Except, of course, if you’ve also treated yourself to a new towel. Luxury overload.

3. Staying in bed late on a Sunday

Getting the Sunday papers – or better yet, getting someone to get them for you – and lazing in repose reading them in bed on a Sunday. Double points if the kids are away somewhere for the weekend.

4. Bubbles in a bath

Every once in a while, it’s nice to have a relaxing bath instead of a rushed shower. Add some bubbles into the mix and you’re entering dangerously luxurious territory.

5. A day off – to do nothing

Days off are a precious thing, and mostly we use them to go on holidays. But it’s nice to take one for yourself – to catch up on sleep, reading, or just do nothing for once.

6. Lighting some candles

A normal night in watching telly can feel very indulgent with the lights turned off and some lovely scented candles lit instead. Minimum cost, but maximum impact.
