WHETHER YOU’RE AN accomplished musician or only gave the recorder a cursory go in primary school, you’ll have undoubtedly popped your head around the doors of Waltons on Dublin’s Georges Street at least once in your life.
An iconic fixture in the city centre, the well-known and much-loved music store closed its doors for the final time on Monday.
After 100 years, the public bid a sad farewell to the Dublin institution, but they weren’t willing to let the moment go unmarked.
In the days that have followed the store’s closure, members of the public have marked the sad occasion by attaching sheet music to the store’s shutters.
And yes, we are getting mildly emotional.
