An iconic fixture in the city centre, the well-known and much-loved music store closed its doors for the final time on Monday.
Sad to hear the news that #Waltons the iconic music shop on George’s Street has closed. Waltons has been an intrinsic part of Dublin’s music community for almost a century. It will be missed.
After 100 years, the public bid a sad farewell to the Dublin institution, but they weren’t willing to let the moment go unmarked.
In the days that have followed the store’s closure, members of the public have marked the sad occasion by attaching sheet music to the store’s shutters.

People are hanging sheet music on Waltons' shutters after its closure on Monday
