Amnesty International’s new campaign for equal access to healthcare in Ireland features Karl Spain, Eric Lalor, Colin Murphy, Peter Coonan, Eleanor Tiernan and Brían Gleeson.

MEDICAL CARD HOLDERS in Ireland wait up to three times longer for healthcare than those with private health insurance – and a new campaign is trying to bring that point home in an unusual way: humour.

Amnesty Ireland features several familiar faces in its new video campaign Karl Spain, Eric Lalor, Colin Murphy, Peter Coonan, Eleanor Tiernan, Brían Gleeson, and members of Irish band Delorentos.

“People are dying,” comedian Colin Murphy says to the camera during one video, before pointing out: “But that will cut waiting lists.”
