WATCH: Horse trainer tells live TV how he'll celebrate success [mildly NSFW]
IT’S PROBABLY FAIR to suggest that this time yesterday, Co Meath horse trainer Peter Casey didn’t expect to have his first taste of success at Grade 1 level at Leopardstown.
It’s probably equally fair to suggest that he didn’t expected to become an unlikely international viral superstar, either.
The video below speaks for itself – after his six-year-old Flemenstar, ridden by Andrew Lynch, led home a field of seven by no newer than 19 lengths in the Frank Ward Solicitors Arkle Novice Steeplechase.
Speaking to RTE’s Tracy Piggott, Casey revealed just how surprised he was – and just how he expected to mark the victory.

After less than 18 hours, the video has already been viewed over 75,000 times – and has even been featured on US sports blog Deadspin, which has readership figures in the millions.
God speed, Peter Casey.
