Watch it: Friday at the movies
EVERY FRIDAY AFTERNOON, TheJournal.ie presents an award-winning short film for you to enjoy as you ease into the weekend.
This week: The Wonderful Story of Kelvin Kind.
One of the most original and impressively visual shorts of recent times, this film introduces Kelvin Kind, an enchanting loser with a heart of gold. Kelvin lives a solitary life, eating beans on toast and watching television but when a pretty girl moves into his apartment building, Kelvin is thrown for a loop and goes looking for love.
A winner of Best Short Drama at the Celtic Media Awards in 2005 amongst others, the film was written and directed by Ian Power, who went on to also write and direct the award-winning recent feature The Runway.
