THE MAYOR OF the capital city of Lithuania has sent a strong message to the owners of luxury cars who think they are above the city’s parking laws – by running over a luxury motor in an armoured car.
Arturas Zuokas arranged the unusual photocall after the city’s residents began to complain that the owners of deluxe cars were simply parking their cars wherever they liked, including in bike lanes, while also expecting more demure cars to be parked in the regulation places.
“This week, a lot of stories about the place where luxury cars are parked,” Storyful quotes Zuokas – himself an avid cyclist – as writing on his Facebook page.
“This morning I had to remind one of them of a few rules,” he added.
It remains unclear exactly what impact his… eh, impact… will have on the problem.
