Watch: 'Obama' cut short at Republican conference
A BARACK OBAMA impersonator was shown off stage at a gathering of Republicans over the weekend after making jokes about the party’s White House contenders and the US president’s mixed-race heritage.
Reggie Brown’s jokes were a little too close to the bone for the Republican Leadership Conference in Louisiana who lapped it up at first but soon weren’t too impressed by the man with the uncanny resemblance to the 44th president.
Brown joked about the Mormon faith of Republican hopeful Mitt Romney remarking that he would have a “first lady, second lady, third lady” if he was elected, referring to the ancient and outlawed Mormon practice of polygamy.
He also said that the real Obama, who had a black father and white mother, was celebrating only half of Black History Month.
Brown’s microphone was cut off as he launched into a gag about congresswoman and Tea Party favourite Michele Bachmann. He was then ushered off the stage.
