What to watch on TV tonight: Tuesday

Manchester City v Monaco, UEFA Champions League (TV 3, 7.30pm)

Ah, a bit of football for your Tuesday evening. The two sides kick off at 7.45pm at the Etihad Stadium.

The Drug Trial (BBC 2, 9pm)

This documentary examines what happened in 2006, after eight healthy men took part in a clinical trial of a drug known as TGN1412. The experimental drug’s purpose was to treat leukaemia, but the trials went terribly wrong.

The Works Presents (RTE 1, 11.10pm)

John Kelly meets Fiona Shaw. You might know her as Petunia Dursley in Harry Potter. Fion chats to John about her work, and the impact of the death of her younger brother, Peter.

Everybody’s talking about… The Love Actually Sequel

Director Richard Curtis has announced that they won’t be paying tribute to Alan Rickman during the Comic Relief Love Actually sketch.

Alan died last year, but Curtis says a nod to his character is ‘complicated’.

He told PA:

You know dealing with Alan is very complicated so not really.
We’re not doing everyone.We’re doing about two thirds of people.

Emma Thompson, who played Rickman’s wife, won’t be returning either.
