IF THE AIM of Rick Santorum’s latest ad campaign was to freak out as many of his countrymen as possible, then we think he deserves a big clap.
The Republican candidate hopeful had presented his vision of the future if Obama is re-elected – and it’s not pretty.
The one-minute video is jam-packed with promises of the horrors that await Americans in 2014 if they put Obama in the White House again – ranging from abandoned playgrounds, to an unexplained influx of crows, to all-out nuclear war.

More worryingly, even time itself may go backwards, as the still image of the little girl below appears to illustrate…
And while the video is littered with vague metaphors which, we can only assume, are aimed at terrifying viewers (eg meat being pushed though a grinder for some reason) there are also more blatant messages of doom for the war-wary: for example, when the faces of Iran’s President and Barack Obama merge on the screen a flickering television set.
