1. Sitting in the front window for a spot of people-watching
It’s a known fact that the window seat in Geoff’s is the place to be seen in Waterford.
2. Being in there during daylight hours and being able to appreciate the gorgeous interiors for *once*
Usually, it’s too crowded with people, you see.
3. Sitting on the loo and being able to appreciate the excellent and sometimes profound scribblings of your fellow Waterfordians
4. Using the upstairs loo when the queue for the downstairs bathroom is too long, and feeling like an absolute genius
Smug as f**k.
5. Looking up at this yoke after years of being a loyal Geoff’s customer and thinking, “What the hell is that?”
6. Landing a premium spot in the beer garden (preferably under the heaters) on a Saturday night
7. Bumping into literally everyone you’ve ever known in there during Spraoi
It’s like a school, family and work reunion all at once!
8. Getting one of the couches and feeling smug as you sense the envious glances of passersby
9. Debating whether or not to get your own chips or to share a bowl
“Will we get one each or one to share?”
*cue intense 10-minute discussion weighing up the pros and cons of each option*
10. Getting your dinner there and thinking about it for weeks after
Dat crab, though.
11. Wondering whether or not they’re ever going to update their CD collection
After your 1,342nd time of hearing, like, Rose Rouge by St. Germain in there.
12. Sipping on a Metalman in there and feeling prouder of your county than John Mullane
13. And knowing that, no matter where you end up settling, it’ll always be your first port of call whenever you’re in Waterford
