YESTERDAY, THIS BLACK-HEARTED weather map struck fear into the hearts of the west coast.
The map showed the sea swells expected at about midday yesterday, as high winds were expected to whip up five storey waves in the Atlantic.
Today, the map is slightly less alarming, although it still indicates swells of 34ft.
A so-called ‘weatherbomb’ hit the west and north of Ireland and the northern UK yesterday, hitting power supplies and causing flooding. A wind speed of 144 miles per hour was recorded at the remote St Kilda islands.
