CANADIAN PHOTOGRAPHER BLAKE Morrow and his friend Beth Beard have known each other for years.
Back in 2012, Beth decided to get gastric-bypass surgery and went to Blake with a brilliant idea. She wanted him to take before and after shots of her spanning two years.
So he took that idea and got very creative with it
He created The Beth Project – where he took her before and after photos and merged them into the one hilarious scene. As he writes on his website:
I created a series of twelve pop culture-inspired portraits of my friend Beth, playfully celebrating her fantastic weight loss.
He wanted both Beths to interact with each other in each shot, and they turned out brilliantly:
I shot her “Before” and “After” selves two years apart, and seamlessly integrated them so they appear to interact with each other within each scene. To properly communicate and celebrate Beth’s accomplishment, her body has not been digitally altered in any way.
The resulting series has gone super viral this week – as the internet has fallen in love with both Beth and Blake’s class photography skills
And the fact that he has gone to such hilarious lengths to celebrate an old friend’s transformation
It’s been covered everywhere from Canadian news station Global, to Buzzfeed and People Magazine.
And rightly so
Well played, everyone
