AH, WEXFORD STRAWBERRIES.
Every summer – and often on the side of the road – they’re lying in wait, tempting you to pick up a punnet.
What better way to pay tribute to them than making your own strawberry cocktail – and luckily there is a simple recipe out there that does the job:
It’s called the Strawberry Cobbler Cocktail and it looks delish
American mixologist Paul McGee created it, and the recipe is pretty easy:
- three fresh strawberries
- one lime wedge and one orange wedge
- one teaspoon of sugar
- 60mls of tequila
- 15mls of sherry
That’s all you need in terms of ingredients
To put the cocktail together, you:
get rid of the lemon and orange rinds and place them and the sugar into a large glass
crush/muddle the strawberries into the mix
pour the sherry and the tequila in and quickly stir it all together – adding loads of crushed ice
For full effect, lob some mint and an extra strawberry on top.
And you’ll be left with a unique way of making those Wexford strawberries have a bit more of a kick
The results look as good as a freshly-bought punnet
