A SIX-MINUTE video documenting the personal stories of 15 young Irish people is making serious waves on Twitter this weekend.
Issues surrounding national identity and underlying prejudice are brought to the fore and subsequently discussed from the perspective of Irish individuals, who are forced to ‘justify’ their identity on a daily basis.
A spotlight is shone on the lived experience of our friends, neighbours and colleagues, and ultimately provides a platform from which to discuss society’s perception of identity.
‘Where are you from-from?’ starts to sound like ‘Where are you supposed to be instead?’
The video, which was directed by Ola Majekodunmi, has amassed almost 10,000 hits on YouTube since its upload on Friday, and has been the subject of considerable praise on Twitter in the last 24 hours.
It's finally here the 'What does Irishness Look Like?' 😁 I'm so excited to share it with you all! Thanks so much to everyone who helped with it, really appreciate it ❤ The subject matter means a lot to me and many others https://t.co/1YKtiYBERu

Take a look at this.
And on top of that Ola, you also prove that it’s possible to be simultaneously from both Dublin and from Badass, County Badass (it’s about a mile outside Becky With The Good Hair) ❤️ @olamajekodunmi1 https://t.co/VwJu4d24p2
