Republic of Telly (RTÉ 2, 10pm)

Georgia Salpa makes her big return as she continues to stamp all over Bernard’s poor little heart. To quote her, she’s ‘just riding all around’. And why not?

Travel Man 48 Hours in Barcelona (Channel 4, 8.30pm)

New series in which Richard Ayoade of the IT Crowd fame travels to tourists destinations to discover if they are an acceptable holiday location. Standard. This week he’s in Barcelona with comedian Kathy Burke. Together, they will filter out what’s good and what’s crap about the city millions of tourists ‘fling’ themselves at every year.

Contagion (TG 4, 9.30pm)

Matt Damon stars in this thriller about a deadly virus which threatens to destroy us all. Scientists struggle to find a cure and stop it spreading further, while people struggle to cope with loved ones who have been infected. Just some casual Monday night viewing.

Everyone’s talking about… Poldark

People are obsessed with this BBC drama starring our very own Aidan Turner. The 18th century drama is set in the Cornish mines and literally nobody can cope with Turner’s Ross Poldark. After last night’s episode, he hosted a questions and answers sesh on Twitter and the questions were exactly as smutty as you’d imagine.

Get The Numbers Write (TV 3, 9pm) Five people take on a six week literary course.

The Ark (BBC 1, 8.30pm) Biblical drama about Noah’s quest to build a big boat to save animals from a massive flood. Based on a true story, some say.

Great Irish Journeys With Martha Kearney (BBC 1, 7.30pm) Beautifully shot, with beautiful locations. This week, Martha Kearney starts at Newgrange and ends up in Castletown House.
