What to watch on TV tonight: Sunday
DailyEdge.ie rounds up the TV shows that you’ll be tweeting about tonight and talking about tomorrow.
The Fall (RTE 1, 9.30pm)
After last weeks cliffhangers, we’ll finally found out what’s going on with Sally Anne, and Gibson isn’t happy with how she’s been treated. Will we find out if Spector is lying or if he’s really suffering from amnesia? And will Aisiling Bea ever get a minute to rest her feet? Jamie Dornan will take a shower, so none of that really matters.
Poldark (BBC 1, 9pm)
If The Fall doesn’t provide you with enough ridey Irish man screentime, catch Poldark right before it.
The Magdalene Sisters (BBC 2, 12am)
If you fancy staying up late, this movie about four Irish women living in a Catholic institution after falling pregnant is an uncomfortable but vital watch. The girls endure mental and physical cruelty with the nuns in charge, giving us a painful glimpse of how far we have come and still have to go.
Everyone’s talking about… SNL’s take on the last debate
The SNL cast have done it again. Kate McKinnon and Alec Baldwin took on Hillary and Trump with a mock of last week’s debate. ‘Ken Bone’ even makes an appearance.
Brilliant.
Or switch over for…
The Americans (RTE 2, 11.35pm) A new series of the drama begins.
Louis Theroux, A Different Brain (RTE 2, 9.30pm) If you’re not into The Fall, try Louis’ great documentary about people with brain injuries.
The X Factor (TV 3, 8pm) Find out who’s getting the boot this week.
Child Genius v Celebrities (Channel 4, 8pm) Richard Osman hosts a Stand Up to Cancer mashup of child genius taking on celebrities such as Alan Carr and Aisling Bea.
The Crystal Maze Celebrity Special (Channel 4, 9pm) Another show for SU2C, Rio Ferdinand, Michelle Keegan, Jonnie Peacock, Sara Cox and Josh Widdicombe take on the Crystal Maze.
