Saturday Night With Miriam (RTÉ 1, 9.50pm)

The final in the latest series of the Saturday night talk show. Guests include Phil Coulter, Jack Whitehall, Rosanna Davison, and… JOHNNY LOGAN.

I Am Legend (RTÉ 2, 9.55pm)

If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to be the last person on earth, this is the movie for you. Will Smith stars as a military scientist and lone survivor of a medical catastrophe that wiped out New York. While he attempts to find other life, all he seems to come across is mutant victims. His only hope? Develop a cure.

The Fighter (Channel 4, 11.25pm)

Mark Wahlberg plays Micky Ward, junior welterweight title winner in this docudrama about his life. His brother struggles with drug addiction and Micky begins to lose his confidence, sending him into a downwards spiral.

Everyone is talking about… Doctor’s Who’s new transgender actress

Trensgender actress Bethany Black has been cast in the next series of BBC sci-fi series Doctor Who.

The 36-year-old is also a comedian, and previously appeared in the Channel 4 drama Cucumber and Banana.

The actress, who won’t be playing a transgender character, wrote on her Facebook page:

It is genuinely the greatest job I could ever have imagined getting. Everything about it is magical.
I only hope that I do the role and the show justice, and that you all enjoy it. For me it’s the gig of a lifetime.

The Expendables (TV 3, 9pm) Possibly one of the most badass casts ever put together, including Sylvester Stalone, Jason Statham, Mickey Rourke, Dolph Lundgren and Terry Crews. Expect explosions.

Somewhere (RTÉ 2, 11.35pm) A hedonistic film star is forced to reevaluate his life after his preteen daughter is left in his care.

The Cube Celebrity Special (UTV Ireland, 8pm) Find out how Rob Beckett and Rufus Hound get on in The Cube.
