What to watch on TV tonight: Saturday
DailyEdge.ie rounds up the TV shows that you’ll be tweeting about tonight and talking about tomorrow.
The Ray D’Arcy Show (RTE 1, 9.45pm)
It’s not a bad line up tonight… Legend Damo Dempsey will be playing a few tunes and having a chat. Westlife star and our Eurovision hopeful Nicky Byrne will also be appearing, along with Denise Welch and Dublin star Bernard Brogan. But perhaps, most thrillingly, David Hasselhoff aka THE HOFF will be beach-running his way to the sofa.
Trial of the Century (TV 3, 9.15pm)
Tom Vaughan-Lawlor stars in this new drama focused on the 1916 Rising and what might happen at the trials of the leaders if they hadn’t been executed.
The Sweeney (Channel 4, 9pm)
Remember Plan B? He’s in this movie about a detective and his partner who attempt to stop a load of robberies in London. Things get violent.
Everyone’s talking about… Nathan Carter’s Hillsborough tribute
Country musician Nathan Carter played a new song in tribute to the victims of Hillsborough on the Late Late last night and it was lovely.
It was the talk of Twitter last night, because he did a great job. G’wan Nathan.
Or flick over for…
Winning Streak (RTE 1, 8.15pm) LOL, jk.
Play to the Whistle (UTV Ireland, 9.30pm) Holly Willoughby hosts the sport panel show.
Live Snooker World Championship (BBC 2, 7pm) It’s interesting, honest.
Britain’s Got Talent (TV 3, 8pm) It’s endlessly amusing, don’t deny it.
Reel Steel (RTE 2, 9pm) Washed up human fighter Hugh Jackman finds a droid he sets up to compete in the future sport of robot boxing. Yeah.
