What to watch on TV tonight: Saturday
Every lunchtime, DailyEdge.ie rounds up the TV shows that you’ll be tweeting about tonight and talking about tomorrow.
The Saturday Night Show (RTÉ 1, 9.55pm)
It’s on, it’s ripe for the Twitter guff, what’s not to like? Tonight we’ll have interviews from Bressie, Vogue Williams, Oliver Callan, and Jason Byrne. Basically it’s the RTÉ Christmas party. Two birds, one stone etc. Music from Friar Alessandro. #satnightshow
The X Factor big finale (UTV, 8.30pm)
Love it? Good? Hate it? You’ll love this. It’s the final, so it’s coming to an end. The final three will sing to for the crown of X Factor winner, bound to be forgotten in the somewhat near future. Fierce entertaining though. Performances from Take That and Meghan Trainor. All about that bass, that bass, that– #xfactor
Ondine (RTÉ 2, 9.30pm)
Colin Farrell and Alicja Bachleda-Curus (whoa that’s a mouthful) star in this Irish movie about a fisherman who discovers a woman in his net who he is convinced is a water nymph. Usual.
Everybody’s talking about: Mel B
Oh noes. Mel B won’t be appearing on this weekend’s X Factor finale due to a mystery illness and doctor’s orders.
ITV ITV
Former judge Tulisa Contostavlos will take her place, according to the ITV website.
She’ll be missed, but we can always hope for one thing…
* cough*
Or flick over for…
The Jonathan Ross Show (UTV, 10.25pm) James Corden, Jon Hamm, Boris Johnson, Keith Lemon and Tulisa Contostavlos are all taking to the sofa. Jaysus.
Strictly Come Dancing (BBC 1, 6.50pm) It’s the semi-final, five are left. Yes, it’s been going on since the beginning of time.
Proms in the Park (BBC 2, 8.30pm) A look back at the BBC Prom in the Park in the Titanic Slipways in Belfast. Bound to be lovely.
Hope Springs (Channel 4, 9pm) Meryl Streep and Tommy Lee Jones try to revive their middle-aged sex life. RIGHT SO.
Moon (BBC 2, 11.00pm) Another great movie for the night, starring Sam Rockwell and Kevin Spacey. Rockwell stars as a trippy lunar miner reaching the end of his mission.
