What to watch on TV tonight: Saturday
Every lunchtime, DailyEdge.ie rounds up the TV shows that you’ll be tweeting about tonight and talking about tomorrow.
Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway (UTV Ireland, 7pm)
Saaaaaaaaa TUR DAAAY. The jingle that refuses to die returns tonight and it’s shameless Saturday night craic at its best. Neil Patrick Harris is guest announcer tonight and a cruel prank will be played on Stephen Mulhern. Excellent.
The Saturday Night Show (RTÉ 1, 9.40pm)
The clock is ticking towards the demise of Brendan O’Connor’s Saturday Night Show. Kieran O’Reilly aka detective Ciaran Madden from LoveHate will be on the sofa, as well as his band Hail the Ghost. Bray artist Rasher will also be in the house, along with Vanessa Lacey and Sam Blanckensee from the Transgender Equality Network who will be speaking about their experience as transgender people in Ireland.
Jurassic Park (RTÉ 2, 7.30pm)
Haven’t you heard? It’s illegal to not watch this when it’s on TV. We’re basically putting it here as a suggestion so you don’t get into trouble with the law. You’re welcome. Enjoy this excellent dinosaur epic.
Everyone is talking about… George Hook being totes amazeballs
There are really no words for this new Republic of Telly clip. None at all. Just watch, and get that Deep Heat ready for your cringe muscles.
Or flick over for…
Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs (RTÉ 1, 6.35pm) Cute family animation focused on the weather and the fact that it’s now food. Irish people’s dream.
The Voice UK (BBC 1, 7.15pm) The live heats begin.
Now Is Good (BBC 2, 9.15pm) Dakota Fanning stars as a terminally ill teenager who decides to start living life to the full.
The World’s Weirdest Weather (Channel 4, 8pm) Another weather show. We’re spoiled for choice.
Hardy Bucks The Movie (RTÉ 2, 11pm) The lads head to Poland to watch Ireland at Euro 2012. Oh Jesus, no.
Girl With a Pearl Earring (BBC 2, 10.50pm) Colin Firth and Scarlett Johansson star as a peasant girl and a Dutch master who develop an unconventional relationship.
