Everyone’s talking about… Gillian Anderson

The actress has revealed that she was offered just half of what David Duchovny was offered to star in The X-Files revival.

In an interview with The Daily Beast, Anderson states that she was offered just a fraction of what her co-star was when it came to pay negotiations.

It was shocking to me, given all the work that I had done in the past to get us to be paid fairly. I worked really hard toward that and finally got somewhere with it.

She pointed out that the same issue had arisen back in the 1990s, making it harder to fathom that it could still happen in 2015.

Even in interviews in the last few years, people have said to me, ‘I can’t believe that happened, how did you feel about it, that is insane.’ And my response always was, ‘That was then, this is now.’ And then it happened again! I don’t even know what to say about it. It is… sad. It is sad.

After much negotiation, Anderson was able to secure the same pay as Duchovny for the forthcoming revival.

Damn straight. (The Daily Beast)
