What to watch on TV tonight: Thursday

Here’s the telly people will be talking about tomorrow.

DailyEdge.ie rounds up the TV shows that you’ll be tweeting about tonight and talking about tomorrow.

Don’t Tell The Bride (RTÉ Two, 9.30pm)

In tonight’s episode of Don’t Tell The Bride, Breda and Paddy from Cashel, Co. Tipperary get married in a bog. (Have you ever read a more Irish programme description in your life?) There’s wellies, tractors, and turf. What more could you want?

Who Do You Think You Are? (BBC One, 8pm)

In which Cheryl (née Tweedy) (née Cole) (née Fernandez-Versini) looks into her family history and uncovers secrets about her great-grandfather having children out of wedlock. Scandalous.

Gogglebox Ireland: Maddest Moments (TV3, 9pm)

A look back at some of the highlights from the first series of Gogglebox Ireland. Expect the Cavan twins to feature heavily. #GoggleboxIreland

Everyone’s talking about… How I Met Your Mother

Good news, How I Met Your Mother fans. A spin-off is in the works.

Deadline reports that a series called How I Met Your Father is reportedly in the works and will tell the story once again, but from the mother’s point of view.

Clever. Very clever.

But don’t expect to see Barney and Ted pop up in it…

Like How I Met Your Dad, which was described by CBS at the time as a “kindred spirit” to the network’s How I Met Your Mother, How I Met Your Father is not a traditional spinoff. It just incorporates the same storytelling device as the original series of a person — in this case a mother — telling the story of how they met their spouse.

Very interesting. (Deadline)
