George Best: All By Himself (BBC Two, 9pm)

A documentary about the late, great George Best. From his roots in Belfast to his glittering career with Manchester United, this is a fascinating insight into one of greatest sports stars this island has ever produced.

Live 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup (RTÉ 2, 6pm)

The tournament draws to a close tonight with Germany facing Chile in what is shaping up to be a rather tasty final and palate cleanser for next year’s World Cup.

Everyone’s talking about… Barry Norman

Tributes have been paid to the legendary film critic, who fronted BBC One’s Film… for 26 years and passed away yesterday at the age of 83.

The best tribute? This letter from Barry Norman agreeing to be a fan’s honorary uncle.
