Rocky Balboa (RTÉ 2, 9pm)

In this instalment, the fighter comes out of retirement when he finds out a computer simulator predicted he would defeat the heavyweight champion Mason ‘The Line’ Dixon. When he’s challenged for real, he can’t resist taking him on.

The Jonathan Ross Show (UTV Ireland 11.50pm)

Joining Ross on the sofa tonight are Luther star Idris Elba, Liv Tyler, David Attenborough, and Keith Lemon.

Safe (TV 3, 9.45pm)

Certifiable badass Jason Statham plays a former cage fighter whose family is murdered by a Triad gang. He saves a 12-year-old girl being attacked by gangsters only to find she is a genius with a valuable code, and now he must keep her SAFE.
