Britain’s Got Talent (TV3, 8pm)

This evening sees Kilkenny’s Presentation Secondary School Choir try to impress Simon Cowell and the gang. Their performance is quite something… but will they progress to the next round? Time to start making those “HON THE CATS!” posters. #bgt

Everyone’s talking about… David McSavage

Yesterday, the comedian appeared in court for not paying his television licence, citing RTÉ’s recent comedy output. Later that day, The Savage Eye was named Best Comedy at the Celtic Media Awards.

Good timing, eh?

In a statement, RTÉ stated that they loved working with David McSavage, but defended their comedy programmes.

We love David and we love his work. He’s a maverick and a comic genius and the fact that his RTÉ 2 series The Savage Eye has won the best comedy category at the Celtic Media Festival … is testament to his talent and to the team he worked with on the show. We are very proud of all four series of the Savage Eye and we know David is too.
Comedy – like television programming in general – is hugely subjective and not everyone is going to enjoy everything we produce, even The Savage Eye.

Your move, David. (TheJournal.ie)
