Peann le Pár (TG4, 9.30pm)

This documentary series examines the effect of the written word on society – in particular, how certain countries react to censorship and the rights people have to express their opinions freely. Bound to be an interesting watch for media enthusiasts.

The Debt (RTÉ One, 9.35pm)

Helen Mirren stars with Irish actor Ciarán Hinds in this thriller. Thirty years after three Mossad agents capture a Nazi war criminal, the secrets they thought they’d left on the mission come back with a vengeance.

Everybody’s talking about… Eastenders’ rape storyline

An almighty SPOILER ALERT for the autumn episodes of the popular soap.

This disturbing new ad foreshadows three upcoming storylines, one of which concerns Linda Carter, who is raped by her ‘nephew’ Dean Wicks.

Actor Matt Di Angelo, who plays Dean in the soap, told Radio Times that he expects viewers will be “shocked and upset” by the storyline – however, he says “the important thing” is to bring attention to the crime of rape.
