What to watch on TV tonight: Wednesday

Here are the shows that’ll be on your Twitter timeline later.

Every lunchtime, DailyEdge.ie rounds up the TV shows that you’ll be tweeting about tonight and talking about tomorrow.

Wolf Hall (BBC One, 9pm)

One of the most highly-anticipated television series of 2015 is the adaptation of Hilary Mantel’s literary phenomenon. Starring noted thespian Mark Rylance as Thomas Cromwell and Homeland’s Brody as King Henry VIII, the series will chart the rise and fall of Cromwell. It’s about to get medieval all up in here. #WolfHall

Hanna (RTÉ One, 9.30pm)

Our own Saoirse Ronan stars in this thriller as the daughter of an ex-CIA employee, who trains her to be an assassin. Aside from being properly cool and entertaining, it also has a deadly soundtrack courtesy of The Chemical Brothers. Sorted, so.

Clubland: Reality Bites (RTÉ Two, 9pm)

This installment of Reality Bites looks at The Wright Venue, which bills itself as Dublin’s first “superclub”. The trailer looks suitably chaotic/amusing and features loads of people running around the place like headless chickens. Might be on to watch through your fingers. #Clubland

Everyone’s talking about… Justin Bieber

The singer is going to be roasted in a forthcoming Comedy Central Roast to be broadcast on March 7th, US Weekly reports.

Bieber is the latest in a long line of celebrities to be roasted by comedians. Previous targets have included Charlie Sheen and William Shatner.

Bieber seems pretty excited at the prospect of being insulted by a room of comics. Yesterday he tweeted that he has wanted to do it “for years”. (So since you were a child, Justin?)

We predict a cringefest.

Or flick over for…

  • Operation Transformation (RTÉ One, 8.30pm) The weight loss reality series continues.
  • The Restaurant (TV3, 9pm) Rugby player Andrew Trimble is in the kitchen this week.
  • Up The Women (BBC Two, 11.25pm) Suffragette sitcom returns for its second series.
  • Friends with Benefits (FilmFour, 9pm) Wink, wink.
  • Red Rock (TV3, 8.30pm) Tonight’s episode apparently has “sexual tension”. Oh matron.
