Here's what to watch on TV tonight: Thursday
DailyEdge.ie rounds up the TV shows that you’ll be tweeting about tonight and talking about tomorrow.
Riviera (Sky Atlantic, 9pm)
It’s time to find out what the show that has been plastered all over billboards and bus stops for the last couple of weeks is about.
Starring Julia Stiles as an extremely rich art curator, the thriller series is set in a world of luxury that’s loaded with deception and death. Stiles character Georgia Clios is introduced as a freshly mourning widower whose husband just died in an explosion on a luxury yacht. Typical.
Georgia soon finds out that the circumstances of her husbands death are more suspicious than she initially thought. Written by Irishman John Banville and directed by Neil Jordan, the man behind Michael Collins, this one is definitely of interest to Irish viewers.
Interstellar (RTÉ2,9.40pm)
Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Michael Caine and Jessica Chastain star in Christopher Nolan’s British-American epic science fiction. As earth becomes uninhabitable after a global crop blight, scientists devise a plan to transport earth’s population to a new home via a wormhole.
Wife Swap: Brexit Special (Channel 4, 9pm)
None of us knew what to expect from Brexit, but it definitely wasn’t this. Tonight Wife Swap will be Wife Swap but with the added feature of huge political clashes between the families in order to create more drama and tension. As if that was possible. Tonight they’ll blend families who have completely opposing views on classism, racism and Brexit in general. Let’s seriously hope that nobody gets hurt.
Everybody’s talking about… The Downton Abbey movie
ITV ITV
There’s no green light on the project yet, but Julian Fellowes has admitted that he has half of the script written so that if it does go ahead it’s ready to go.
