What to watch on TV tonight: Sunday

This is the telly everyone will be talking about tomorrow.

 Acceptable Risk (RTÉ One, 9.30pm)

The second part of the contemporary six-part thriller played out in Dublin and Montreal. Tonight, garda Emer Byrne is convinced that Gumbiner-Fischer is hiding something, while Sarah becomes increasingly driven to find out who is behind her husband’s death.

Electric Dreams (Channel 4, 9pm)

Electric Dreams is an anthology based on the writings of Philip K. Dick, who wrote Blade Runner, Total Recall and Minority report to name a few. It is produced by Bryan Cranston and has an excellent cast, including Janelle Monaé and Steve Buscemi.

Tonight’s third episode is called ‘The Commuter’ and focuses on a railway station employee who is completely fed up with his thankless job and disappointing home life. When a passenger requests a ticket to a town that does not exist, he becomes tempted to follow her route, thinking the destination could help him escape his frustrating life.

Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (RTÉ 2, 9pm)

Hotshot TV anchorman Ron Burgundy (Will Ferrell) welcomes reporter Veronica Corningstone (Christina Applegate) into the world of 1970s broadcast news – until she begins to outshine Burgundy on air. He grows jealous and begins a bitter feud that leads to the destruction of his career. When an outrageous story breaks at San Diego Zoo, he may have one last chance to redeem himself.

The Last Post (BBC 1, 9pm) New BBC drama series focusing on the British army in Yemen in the 1960s.

Escape (Channel 4, 8pm) Reality survival show where five skilled engineers are stranded in a desert and must use wreckage from a crashed plane to build a vehicle to escape. Later in the series, they will be challenged on new terrain (rain, snow etc)

Animal Super Parents (RTÉ2, 7pm) A look at the wonderful stories of nature’s most incredible parents.

Duck Quacks Don’t Echo (Sky One, 8pm) Lee Mack hosts the panel show that test-runs the world’s most startling facts.

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (E4, 9pm) If you’re into that.
