Denis O’Brien: The Story So Far (RTÉ One, 9.35pm)
David Murphy looks at the rise of Denis O’Brien, the richest native born Irishman in the world. Filming for this documentary began in May 2017, and Denis O’Brien was invited to contribute to the programme, but declined. It features past interviews with the billionaire and contributions from his admirers and his many critics, including the former CEO of Independent News and Media Gavin O’Reilly, Senator Michael McDowell and Social Democrat TD Catherine Murphy.
Airbnb: Dream or Nightmare? (3, 10pm)
A documentary looking at the rise of accommodation booking site Airbnb. While the programme examines some positive experiences that individuals have had with the service, it also shows the danger of opening up your home to complete strangers and the damage that the service is doing to the rental market. The show will investigate claims that Airbnb is pushing up rents, pricing people out of their communities and turning residential areas into tourist zones.
KFC: Inside the Billion Dollar Chicken Shop (Be3, 7.45pm)
A documentary series looking behind the scenes at the UK operations of international fast food giant KFC. Tonight, one of KFC’s marketing experts tries to change the public’s perception of the company’s unhealthy image by exploring a range of new products for the chain to release across the UK and Ireland.
